The Phillip Baucher Snaffle bit, once correctly fitted to the bridle is “suspended” in the mouth in the horse’s mouth.
For fitting, the cheek pieces are fastened to the small purchase rings and the reins to the snaffle rings.
This “suspension” feature places the traditional bit pressure points into slightly different places within the horses mouth.
The bit also creates a small amount of poll pressure, encouraging a more flexed head carriage.
The action of this bit comes into most effect when the rein aids are applied.
This bit is better suited to horses that can be fussy about the bit.
